Hailing from Nyack, NY Bulletproof Heart channels the angst of the 90s with modern interpretations of classics from bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt, Hole, and Weezer.
Grunge is the bedrock of Bulletproof Heart, but the noise doesn’t stop there. The band takes a backwards glance at the 70s and 80s, pounding out hits from artists like Blondie and Led Zeppelin. Likewise, to quote My Chemical Romance, “the future is bulletproof”; the band looks beyond the 90s and has been adding 00s material to the rotation.
Formed in November 2019, Bulletproof Heart played its first gig in February of 2020, just days before the world shut down in March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic unfurled.
With no stages to play, the band members continued to rehearse and release several quarantine style videos on YouTube. Bulletproof Heart also produced two Livestreams from bassist Eric’s backyard.
When venues started booking bands in 2021, Bulletproof Heart made a strong entrance into the local music scene, playing spots at Hotel Nyack, Two Villains, and Pier 701. In 2022, the band continues to rock crowd favorite Hudson Valley establishments, like Defiant Brewing. Most recently, we had a blast rocking the stage at Olive’s, opening for the ever-popular Emo Night Karaoke Night. In May 2022, the band made its Manhattan debut at Arlene’s Grocery.
